The cryptocurrency exchange Binance will officially launch its NFT Marketplace platform today (June 24th) with a unique digital art auction.
To celebrate the launch of the NFT Marketplace, the NFT Marketplace, developed by Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, is holding an auction called “Genesis”, with the focus on “Three Self-Portraits” by “Monster” from the world painter village Andy Warhol, as well as “Divine Comedy: Rebeget” by the Spanish painter Salvador Dali. The Genesis auction will from 9 a.m. on June 24, 2021 (Vietnam time) and takes within 3 days.
“Three self-portraits” is a trilogy of self-portraits from 1986 by the artist Andy Warhol, the pioneer of the pop art school of the second half of the 20th century. “Three Self-Portraits” illustrates Warhol’s screen printing technique to enable easy reproduction of brushstrokes and to create three portraits of the artist at different color angles. Andy Warhol is said to have made a significant contribution to making visual art accessible to the public, especially the current Generation X and the millennials who built the Internet and ushered in the new era, digital resources and blockchain. A total of 1 unique NFT of the original painting will be created, the winner will also receive an actual print. In addition, Binance will have other NFT derivatives derived from this picture.
While, “Divine Comedy: Rebirth” is a work by the artist Salvador Dali, created in 1965 on behalf of the Spanish government on the occasion of the 700th birthday of the great poet Dante Alighieri. By the way, 2021 will mark the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death. A total of 102 versions of “Divine Comedy: rebeget” will be released on Binance NFT, each version will contain many special elements to enhance the uniqueness of the image, including the Bitcoin symbol, the Binance logo and the signature of the founder Changpeng Zhao ( CZ).
As if that weren’t enough, the auction also includes NFTs “Mysterious box” – “Secret”. Each secret box contains an NFT with a random rarity and nature. The first Mystery Box collection will contain 16 characters from the Japanese “Tokidoki” franchise. Mystery boxes are available for sale from 7:00 p.m. on June 24, 2021 (Vietnam time).
Binance’s NFT Marketplace platform will also present the program “100 Creators”, including 100 artists chosen by the floor to create artifacts for users. Only these artists will be given permission to offer NFT on Binance’s platform in the weeks following the launch.
The notice of the soil states:
“NFT technology has revolutionized the world’s art sector, realizing the concept of digital property rights. The Genesis auction will reaffirm this importance and present to the public the digitized versions of two works that represent the changing breeze of each period in which they appear. “
According to Binance, the aim of the auction is a “new renaissance of the NFT sector”. The name of the auction Genesis means “origin” which is often used to refer to the first blocks that were generated by blockchains. It can be seen that Binance has many expectations for its NFT platform that will restore the crypto community’s interest in NFT.
Immediately after Binance announced that it would build the NFT Marketplace in April, many other exchanges such as Huobi and FTX followed suit and started NFT projects of their own.
