A stunning total quantity of LINK has been traded as the token’s price decreased, breaking the previous record established in 2017 after the token’s creation, according to the Santiment on-chain data agency team, which announced this on Twitter.
The tweet demonstrates that on Tuesday, 80.8 million unique LINK were transferred despite LINK’s small price drop of 4%. This was the second largest transfer of native Chainlink tokens after the fall of 2017 when LINK had just begun trading.
Huge amounts of LINK are being removed from centralized cryptocurrency exchanges, according to data given by Twitter user @Jay DCA from another well-known on-chain data provider, Glassnode. It appears that holders are putting their coins into cold wallets for long-term storage.
At press time, LINK is changing hands at $6.3 after a nearly 12% drop in the past 24 hours, according to CoinCu Data.
