According to information from Reuters, the British Army regained control of its Twitter and YouTube accounts on Sunday after they were briefly hacked and used to post about cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens.

After fixing the issue, @BritishArmy announced normal operation again and apologized to followers.

Additionally, the army’s YouTube channel, which had been renamed to “Ark Invest” and featured a number of films about cryptocurrencies, was returned to its prior state.

Currently, it has 177,000 subscribers to its YouTube channel and 362,000 followers on Twitter. A large international investing company is called Ark Invest. An email and website comment request were sent to the corporation, but there was no quick response.

“The breach of the Army’s Twitter and YouTube accounts that occurred earlier today has been resolved and an investigation is underway. The Army takes information security extremely seriously and until their investigation is complete it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
