Changpeng Zhao – After formally recognizing Bitcoin (BTC) as legal tender, the Central African Republic continues to draw attention from cryptocurrency enthusiasts. As part of exploiting the sector’s advantages since the new legislation, the nation’s officials have gotten in touch with various crypto stakeholders.
Touadéra met with Changpeng Zhao (CZ), CEO of the Binance cryptocurrency exchange, to discuss several aspects of cryptocurrencies, including adoption.
The meeting was verified by Zhao in a tweet he sent out on August 5 in which he said they talked about issues with education and the framework for regulating cryptocurrency.
It is important to note that Zhao is supporting cryptocurrencies at a time when Binance is under fire for not implementing thorough anti-money laundering measures. Zhao’s interactions with authorities are therefore seen as attempts to win over favor with Binance in countries where the exchange is well-liked.
The blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrencies were the main topics of discussion at one important meeting between the founder of Binance and the Turkish Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati.
Notably, Binance had already paid a $750,000 punishment to the Turkish government for breaking new rules.
