Solutions for Layer 2 Scaling StarkWare announced the introduction of its new technology, which has the ability and speed to handle up to 60 million transactions per second.
Eli Ben-Sasson, the creator of the well-known Layer 2 solution StarkWare, emphasized in his presentation at Korea Blockchain Week that the recursive engine is excellent for scaling scale because it decreases gas costs, is more verifiable, and delivers lower latency.
Some programming languages enable the independent calling of a module or function. The name of this method is recursion. In recursion, a function a may be directly called or may be called by a function b that then calls the original function a. Recursive function refers to the function a.
Eli Ben-Sasson claims that StarkWare has developed a new recursive integrated proof technology for the advantages of recursion described at the beginning of the article. The Ethereum blockchain could possibly combine up to 60 million transactions using this technique.
Ben-Sasson stated during the presentation that this development by StarkWare might increase transaction throughput by a factor of at least 10 times that of the typical Validium scale.
“The minimum I would say is 10x. We tested mint 600,000 NFT on ImmutableX, generating only 10 gwei per mint. The number can go up to 60 million with more techniques and adjustments. It is also possible to reduce latency by another factor of 5 to 10 times.”
StarkNet is a Layer 2 solution provided by StarkWare that employs ZK-Rollups technology but is not permitted to scale transactions using Validium. However, StarkEx can be used with Validium and ZK-Rollups. Validium functions similarly to ZK-Rollups by combining thousands of transactions into a single transaction. The new recursive hybrid proof technology from StarkWare essentially combines numerous Validium blocks into a single proof.
The most common Layer 2 platforms at this time still center around ZK-Rollups, Optimistic-Rollups, and Validium. These platforms will be provided with various technologies that each project is using, making it easy to visualize.
