OpenSea has announced a new rarity standard for OpenSea users called OpenRarity. OpenSea has partnered with PROOF Collective, Icy Tools and Curio Tools on a new rarity method. OpenRarity provides a “verifiable, consistent & mathematically-grounded approach to rarity calculations“.
Collections and NFT creators will be able to opt-in to OpenRarity as it is optional. Developers will be given access to the API when opting in to OpenRarity, making this data accessible to more users.
OpenRarity will launch on this NFT marketplace next week.
