Ethereum Name Service Take Control Back To eth.link After The Lawsuit With GoDaddy

The Ethereum Name Service claims to have won the lawsuit against GoDaddy and successfully regained control of the eth.link domain.

As updated in an earlier Coincu News article, on September 5, the parent company of ENS True Names Ltd. filed lawsuits against GoDaddy, Dynadot and Manifold Finance. GoDaddy allegedly transferred the ENS’s eth.link name to domain name registrar Dynadot before its expiration date and put the name up for auction in what the ENS called a “breach of contract” that violated an agreement to “respect, acknowledge, and protect” the eth.link name.

ENS uses the eth.link domain to connect “.eth” names to the Domain Name System, or DNS, which is the system web browsers use to connect to websites. The loss of access to the eth.link domain has disrupted service for ENS and its users.

However, all troubles were over when the US District Judge in charge of the case accepted ENS’s request for an injunction and asked to return the name eth.link, restoring EthLink services.

Now that the Ethereum domain name service has taken control of eth.link again, users can continue to use the service.
