Elrond (EGLD) is a scalable blockchain network that provides various infrastructure services for dApps, enterprise use cases, and the new internet economy. The adaptive state analysis of the blockchain makes it one of the fastest and more efficient networks.
With this integration, Opera users will have access to Elrond Standard Digital Token (ESDT), a native token issuance standard that, in addition to native EGLD tokens, makes it a great entry point for Web3. Users will be able to participate without depending on third-party wallets, ensuring seamless transactions and enhanced security.
In March, the Norwegian browser startup introduced support for eight additional blockchains, including Solana and Polygon, to its in-browser crypto wallet.
Opera and other crypto-focused browsers, such as Brave, have placed large bets on a surge in Web3, which refers to the third generation of Internet services powered by blockchain. Users will find it simpler to communicate with various decentralized finance (DeFi) and other on-chain ecosystems as Web3 interoperability improves.
Beniamin Mincu, CEO of Elrond, said:
“The vision we share and the common goal of minimizing user onboarding friction into Web3 are the driving force behind this new collaboration.”
Opera has exceeded 300 million users, according to a press statement. At the time of publication, the browser declined to provide the names of its crypto users.
