According to Bloomberg, prosecutors in Seoul said on September 26 the international police organization issued a Red Notice for Kwon. He faces charges in South Korea related to the wiping out of $60 billion in cryptocurrencies he created.
As updated in an earlier Coincu News article, in response to Do Kwon’s “not running away” excuses, Korean prosecutors issued a statement contrary to what Do Kwon shared. to the community that he is not on the run and is willing to cooperate with the investigation.
Accordingly, they believe that Do Kwon in fact did not cooperate with the Korean authorities in the investigation. Terra CEO even used his own attorney to convey the message to investigators that he did not intend to appear in front of them for questioning.
Because of the serious nature of the case, Korean prosecutors asked Interpol to issue a red notice against Do Kwon. At the same time, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office added that it had asked the Seoul Foreign Ministry to cancel Do Kwon’s Korean passport for absconding.
Interpol’s red notice is a worldwide, top-level law enforcement request to locate and arrest an offender for extradition.
