Zach Dexter Will Head FTX U.S. As The Crypto Exchange Relocates Its Headquarters To Miami

Following the retirement of president Brett Harrison, Zach Dexter will step up from leading FTX’s US derivatives business to take over the whole organization, according to a source with firsthand knowledge of the subject.

The change occurs when FTX U.S. relocates its headquarters from Chicago to Miami. According to the source, Dexter has lived in Miami for a long time. He joined FTX U.S. in October 2021, following the company’s acquisition of LedgerX, where he was CEO.

Harrison, who is located in Chicago, announced his resignation from the president earlier today. He stated that he will shift his responsibilities and take on an advising position at the organization in the coming months.

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried tweeted earlier today about the move to Miami and announced that Zach Dexter will take up his new position.

The city’s mayor, Francis Suarez, welcomed the exchange operator.

Since last year, FTX U.S. has been aiming to relocate to Miami. After winning the arena naming rights to the National Basketball Association’s Miami Heat for $135 million over 19 years last year, the corporation already had name recognition among the city’s sports enthusiasts.
