On Wednesday, Robinhood Markets published an “Under the Hood” blog post outlining how the California-based financial services company has joined with Circle.
According to Robinhood, the stablecoin USD Coin is the “first stablecoin accessible to purchase and trade on Robinhood Crypto and the new Robinhood Wallet (currently in beta).”
Johann Kerbrat, the chief technology officer and GM of Robinhood Crypto, said:
“USDC will play a crucial role in helping our customers get their dollars into Web3 through a trusted and transparent source. It’s a crucial addition to our product to enable our customers to experience Web3 dApps and DeFi, without exposing themselves to volatility within the market.”
Kerbrat announced the strategic alliance with Circle during the Converge22 conference in San Francisco. Circle also announced a partnership with Robinhood on Wednesday, noting that the two companies will offer “exclusive in-app educational modules to earn USDC rewards.”
