Last September, the crypto market had a gentle recovery but still remained sideway. However, the market still witnessed a lot of remarkable fundraising for projects in the gamefi segment.
Web3 chess startup and marketplace Immortal Game has raised $12 million in funding led by TCG Crypto, along with other tech and entertainment VC specialists — Cassius, Greenfield One, Sparkle Ventures (supported by the Sandbox Founders and Animoca Brands), Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s 35V, Blockwall, Kraken Ventures, and Spice Capital.
Immortal Game will use the funding to accelerate its product development and expand into key markets including India, the US, and Europe. It founded in March 2021 by Thomas Zaepffel, David Cingala, and Geoffroy Mestrallet, the startup had raised $3.5 million in funding earlier this year, co-led by Cassius and Greenfield One, that was also backed by GFC, Kraken Ventures, Moonfire, Kima Ventures, Blockwall, and BlackPool DAO.
Blockchain gaming studio Vulcan Forged has secured Series A funding led by SkyBridge Capital, an investment firm founded by former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci. Vulcan announced in a press release the round raised $8 million, with the option to invest an additional $33 million.
The funding is aimed at accelerating the growth of Vulcan Forged “Metascapes,” a play-to-earn immersive metaverse game that allows its users to build their own land in the metaverse and store that data through non-fungible tokens (NFT). In addition, the funding will be used to grow Vulcan’s operations in North America as well as other markets. Currently, Vulcan Forged has about 15 games and decentralized applications (dapps), with about 200,000 users.
Thirdwave is a blockchain data company, has emerged from stealth mode after raising $7 million in a seed round led by Framework Ventures. Animoca Brands, Play Ventures, Shima Capital, Hustle Fund, and Oceans Ventures also took part in the financing.
Thirdwave provides Web3 companies, projects, protocols, and decentralized autonomous organizations with blockchain data. This includes on-chain activity, customer data, social channel information, website analytics, and industry benchmarks. It aims to provide game developers and Web3 builders with a deeper understanding of the market.
The mobile free-to-play game publisher Revolving Games has gone Web3. The company announced Friday it has raised an additional $13.2 million in seed funding from a range of investors, bringing its total funding to $25 million thus far.
The latest round was led by Pantera Capital, with Animoca Brands, Polygon, Dapper Labs, and Rockstar Games founder Dan Houser among those participating.
Gameplay Galaxy announced it has raised $12.8 million in funding for its Web3 decentralized competitive gaming ecosystem. The creators of Trials Xtreme are also preparing to launch a new entry in the series as the first game on the platform.
Blockchain Capital led the round, with Merit Circle, Com2uS, Mysten Labs, Solana Ventures, Yield Guild Games and Hustle Fund participating. The company plans to use the funding to build out more features for the platform, as well as new games. It also intends to offer its a wallet to users, as well as ease onboarding for Web2 users.
