As was updated in an earlier Coincu News article, since June or July, Zcash has been suffering from a spam attack in which attackers have been submitting massive transactions that quickly fill up block space.
The blockchain is experiencing a sudden increase in size due to higher transaction volumes reaching 100 GB, raising concerns about a potential spam attack.
The Electric Coin Company (ECC), the organization behind Zcash, has released a statement that will address concerns and assure users that Zcash is functioning properly.
The vast majority of Zcash users are unaffected by the vast increased size of the blockchain, but users of shielded wallets are reporting slower than normal sync times due to a high volume transactions with a high number of outputs.
The ECC team is updating the community on their contribution to improving performance and will continue to communicate with the community.
Currently ZEC token is trading at 55.1$, down 2,81% in the last 24 hours.
