It is reported that the NFT collectors who minted at least 5 NFTs using a Candy Machine v2 have a chance to get the airdrop. The more NFTs minted, the more MPLX Tokens they will be airdropped.
Metaplex sparked the Solana NFT ecosystem by introducing the Metaplex Standard, as well as the now-ubiquitous Candy Machine and Auction House applications for minting and selling NFTs.
According to the dev team, the protocol permitted the production of 21 million NFTs and generated $3.5 billion in primary and secondary sales for 2.5 million makers and collectors. Solana NFTs are 99.9% Metaplex NFTs designed on the Standard.
However, there is one major caveat: inhabitants of the United States are not eligible for the airdrop, likely owing to regulatory issues.
In January, the project received $46 million in a round-headed by Multicoin Capital and Jump Crypto, with Animoca Brands, Solana Ventures, and Alameda Research also participating. More than 90 private investors, including basketball luminaries Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson, also participated.
