Spice Girls Mel B Becomes Target Of Crypto Scams

Mel B, a member of the world-famous girl group Spice Girls, is said to have become a target of crypto fraudsters.

The pop artist stated that she became enraged after discovering that her friends and family members had received texts from scammers impersonating her.

The criminal actors were soliciting funds to fund a charity initiative for African children that did not exist. The recipients of false communications were instructed to send cryptocurrency exclusively through Binance, the largest crypto exchange by reported trade volumes.

According to one of the insiders, the crypto component sparked suspicion. At the same time, the fact that the fraudster was allegedly soliciting money for charity lent it some legitimacy, considering Mel B‘s involvement in different charitable organizations.

Scammers of cryptocurrency sometimes imitate celebrities in order to dupe naive social media users into investing in crypto scams. In this situation, however, hackers were able to boost their game by getting the personal contracts of their victim’s friends and family members in order to directly attack them.

Mel B, according to media reports, has already filed a police investigation after learning about the swindle.

Cryptocurrency scams are on the rise as more and more people know about the crypto market. One of them is relying on celebrities to promote it. Recently, Kim Kardashian has been charged by the US SEC for unbelievably promoting the EthereumMax token on social media.
