According to a press release, users may now create accounts and buy cryptocurrencies in EUR or GBP via Gemini’s website and mobile app.
They may also fund their accounts with a debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or with a SEPA transfer. ActiveTrader, the exchange’s high-performance trading platform, is also accessible.
Furthermore, Irish institutions, organizations, and the like now have access to all-in-one custody, clearing, trade execution, price discovery, and portfolio creation services.
Gemini is making a determined push into Europe with this move. It is the next stage in the company’s European expansion strategy, which is based on proactive and constructive interaction with authorities and policymakers.
Last Thursday, the crypto exchange emailed some users to inform them that the Central Bank of Ireland had just authorized it as an Electronic Money Institution and registered it as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP).
According to the press release, Gemini is the first firm in Ireland to get a VASP registration. As a result, the news from Gemini may not come as a surprise to certain European Union users.
