$165 Million Is The Number Uniswap Raised In Series B Funding Round
On its twitter account Uniswap revealed that today that the company completed its Series B fundraising and was able to raise $165 million through a funding round. Other investors who participated in the round include a16z cryptocurrency, Paradigm, SV Angel, and Variant.
The funding comes just two weeks after it is said to be in talks to raise between $100 million and $200 million. The DEX is discussing a new funding round with Polychain Capital and a “sovereign fund based in Singapore”.
This capital will allow to heavily reinvest in web apps and developer tools, launch a non-fungible token (NFT), and transition to supporting mobile users.
Going forward Uniswap will focus on making web3 more accessible to the wider community and will challenge the current so-called web2 model, which competes for “user control”. Instead, web3 “has a chance to compete by empowering users
