Bitcoin the world’s largest cryptocurrency and Bitcoin payment service provider, will start supporting Polygon’s MATIC token this week, according to a new announcement on its site.
Polygon is home to some of the biggest projects like Aave, Uniswap and OpenSea. Low fees, fast transaction speeds, and network neutrality are also some of the reasons why companies like Starbucks, Robinhood, and Stripe have chosen Polygon as their gateway to Web3.
As such, the BitPay app will allow users to buy, store, exchange, and use MATIC, as well as several other ERC-20 tokens, on Polygon, including USDC, DAI, BUSD, and WBTC.
Additionally, BitPay CEO Stephen added: “Adding MATIC to the mix of cryptocurrencies that BitPay supports provides businesses with a fast, safe and secure alternative to traditional payment methods, while paving the way for blockchain payments that disrupt the way consumers and businesses receive and spend money”.
BitPay is one of the largest cryptocurrency payment service providers with thousands of customers. And so, it will open the door for MATIC to be used more widely around the world.
