Binance’s Fake App Has Been Stolen Over $400,000 USDT

According to Wu Blockchain, the Android Binance APP is still in normal use, but the USDT sending address has been changed by the hacker. More than $400,000 USDT has been stolen. According to the security company, the criminals will copy the original Binance app and put it down for download on the relevant websites.

According to Wu Blockchain’s warning, the hacker is attacking the Android Binance APP and changing the USDT sending address to their own, and everything about the application is still in use.

According to the report, on October 24, a user in China reportedly used Binance App to transfer 5 ETH from MetaMask to Binance APP for OTC but a few minutes later the account still has not received the funds. After contacting customer service and customer care, the user received a message that the deposit address does not belong to any users.

Another user also lost more than 5,000 USDT by the same method.

According to on-chain data statistics, one of the addresses of the Binance APP fake hacker, TN9L…NUz9, received more than 500,000 USDT in recent month and the number of earnings transactions is nearly 400,000 USDT.

Security sources indicate that the root cause is malicious code correctly implanted into the Binance APP, especially for Android users. Similar problems can occur with users downloading apps from other exchanges.

The SlowMist security team explained to WuBlockchain: APP after repackaging, and then put the Binance APP on the relevant download site, once the user installed the fake app, the fake APP in the user login and other functions have not changed, the malicious code function is located in the user deposit, when the user deposit, trigger the malicious code rules, replace the user deposit address as a malicious address.

As updated in an earlier Coincu News article, the Binance CEO on the same day warned users to be careful when searching for sites on Google because fake websites even show up before the official websites.
