Now That 20% Of Solana Nodes Are Gone, 16.9% Of Ethereum Is In Danger

A message was sent to the same group of operators on Ethereum by Hetzner, one of the largest hosts on the Solana network, restricting access to their servers for thousands of network validators.

Recently, validators on the SOL network began getting emails from Hetzner warning its clients and requesting that they remove all of their SOL-related activities in order to gain access to servers. Hetzner previously stated that it would not accept any cryptocurrency-related activity on its servers.

Solana should be viewed as a cautionary tale for owners of Ethereum nodes

With nearly 20% of the network’s validators losing power, Solana may experience a new set of the technical difficulties to which we are already acquainted. However, this instance demonstrates that Hetzner’s treatment of Solana should be viewed as a cautionary tale for owners of Ethereum nodes.

Ethereum node operators are breaking the company’s system policy, according to Hetzner’s own data, and are likely to end up like SOL. After Amazon, Hetzner continues to be the second-largest hosting provider on the entire network.

Users operating Solana nodes on the aforementioned provider should move as soon as possible to a different server because doing so will allow them to participate in the network’s validation process.

Make sure to switch to a different provider as soon as you can if you are managing a Solana node. Ethereum validators ought to consider switching to a different service, preferably one with less network dominance.

Fortunately, Solana hasn’t yet had any serious problems, and the network is operating as expected with continuous uptime. The performance of the underlying cryptocurrency on the market has not changed in any manner.
