Lead XRPL Developer Shares Thoughts On XRP Twitter Tip Bot

Lead XRPL Developer – Shortly after Musk closed the deal to purchase Twitter, there was a heated discussion on which cryptocurrency should be adopted by the social network.

In response to Anthony Pompliano’s assertion that Bitcoin is Twitter’s finest possible currency, cryptocurrency lawyer John Deaton quickly dissented and reminded users that there used to be an XRP Tip Bot on the network a few years ago. This sparked a new round of debates.

The creator of that invention, Wietse Wind, who is currently most likely the top developer on XRPL, entered the conversation at this point. Five years ago, Wind disclosed his similar development for Reddit, where XRP was intended to be utilized for donations. The developer has released a second bot that enables users of another Wind product, Xumm Wallet, to tweet XRP.

Will the public receive XRPL Tip Bot 2.0?

The bot’s statistics show that over the course of its existence, 20,531 donations worth 154,643 XRP have been sent through it. Due to a violation of the terms of service, Twitter banned the original XRP Tip Bot in 2020.

Then, the XRP community connected the bot’s banning to Jack Dorsey, the former CEO of Twitter and a well-known Bitcoin maximalist. XRP supporters have already started contacting Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, requesting that he unblock the bot, despite the fact that Musk has not spoken publicly about the company’s objectives, particularly with regard to cryptocurrencies.
