The mobile operator expects to invest 500-600 billion yen in Web3 over the next five to six years, the company presented the plan in its Q2/2022 earnings report.
The mobile service provider intends to establish a Web3 business by 2023, with four main functions: blockchain wallet, cryptocurrency exchange, token issuance, and securities.
Motoyuki Ii, president & CEO of NTT Docomo, said:
