Aptos co-founder and CEO Mo Shaikh discussed the partnership with Simon Baksys, the go-to-market and business development lead for Google’s web3 division, during a panel at Token2049 in London.
“I believe this is the first time a web2 and a web3 company have collaborated in such an important way,”
Shaikh
According to Shaikh, Google Cloud will validate nodes and participate in this ecosystem mainnet. The Aptos blockchain will also be indexed and made available through Google Cloud BigQuery.
The collaboration aims to foster new talent, with Google and the Aptos Foundation planning to launch an accelerator program and co-host a hackathon next year. The blockchain is already well-known for attracting Solana developers who were fed up with “eating glass” on Solana and were looking for a more user-friendly way to program decentralized applications.
“It should be really interesting to see those two worlds collide and those projects that are interested in using both Google and Aptos tools to produce something really cool. We will undoubtedly continue our quote unquote world tour and engage with the community as a group.”
Baksys
