On November 16, an FTX investor named Edwin Garrison sued the former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and many celebrities. The lawsuit alleges that as a result of FTX’s collapse, US customers suffered up to $11 billion in losses, and accused the exchange of targeting unsophisticated investors all over the country.
In 2021, Tom Brady and Gisele bought shares of FTX and were appointed as brand ambassadors. These two have done many advertisements to invite investors to invest in FTX.
Meanwhile, Kevin O’Leary – The judge of Shark Tank still intends to invest in FTX. Kevin O’Leary said that if Sam Bankman-Fried had a new business idea, he would back him up again. In the context that FTX is collapsing and facing huge debts. Kevin still believes that the former CEO of FTX is one of the people he appreciates.
The lawsuit has been filed by prominent lawyers such as Adam Moskowitz and David Boies in the Florida of the United States. It is not yet clear how the above individuals will be held legally responsible for their role in the collapse of the FTX exchange. At the moment, the FTX side has not yet responded to the information of this lawsuit.
