On November 24, GoPlus Security, a Web3 security infrastructure company, tweeted that it had discovered a large-scale phishing scam with 4,565 transactions.
The attacker bought 157,600 fake fans by spoofing Flow’s official Twitter. Using fake Flow high value airdrop to lure users to click on scam websites is actually malicious authorization scam.
Thousands of people were tricked and attackers made millions of dollars in profits. And on-chain data shows that new users are constantly being deceived. GoPlus reminds everyone to be cautious and not trust malicious addresses that can empty assets.
Flow is a fast, decentralized, and developer-friendly blockchain, built with the purpose of supporting the decentralized applications (DApps), games, and digital assets they run on. It is designed for scalability and faster speeds without resorting to fragmentation technology, which makes it ideal for crypto-based games and NFT collectibles.
With Flow’s unique proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and multi-node architecture, we partnered with Deloitte Canada to validate how much energy the network uses.
