Comments On Mysterious Bitcoin Miner’s “Ancient” Signature Appeared

Bitcointalk.org, one of the earliest Bitcoin forums, still keeps historical conversations about the creation of the Bitcoin logo and payment mechanism.

An interested user of the bitcointalk.org forum recently attempted to identify early Bitcoin miners. To their amazement, an anonymous person revealed a signature from January 2009, barely a week after Bitcoin was created.

The story begins with the question of member casinotester0001 on November 15:

And more than 10 days later, another member named OneSignature answered this question, along with the signature address of what can be considered “ancient” of those who have been attached to BTC since day one. To add to the mystery, the signature was posted on November 26, 2022, by a newly created account.

OneSignature‘s account history indicates no additional engagement on the forum, proving that it was created to display the oldest signed message.

It was also determined that a Twitter account with the handle “@onesignature” existed. The Twitter account also called “Andy,” was created in October 2009, and the profile image advises, “don’t trust anyone.”

Online forums are important to the BTC creation narrative, as Satoshi Nakamoto and early contributors discussed and built a revolutionary financial system from the ground up.

The disclosure of the signature dating back to the BTC genesis period confirms that those involved in building the legacy keep a close eye on the ecosystem while occasionally feeding the general public’s curiosity.

However, because the current market landscape is very difficult, BTC is dropping heavily in its value, at the time of writing, BTC is trading at $17,000.
