OptionRoom is tracking assets and has called the police to track down the hackers. Additionally, OptionRoom tracked down the hacked wallets, which appear to have moved the stolen funds to Binance and other exchanges.
Hackers managed to extract liquidity and steal all assets in deployer addresses on Ethereum and BSC chains. Over the past few days, OptionRoom has been tracking the ongoing transactions of the hacker’s wallet, the firm found that the hacker also attacked multiple encryption projects at the same time.
In terms of attacks, OptionRoom reported that the attacker posed as representatives of another cryptocurrency investment firm and invited the target to a new chat group in October 2022 while pretending to ask for comments on the fee structure utilized by bitcoin exchange platforms.
This, coupled with the fact that the attacker had a broader knowledge of a specific part of the industry, indicated that they were well-prepared and aware of the current challenge the targeted companies may have.
