SBF Not Intent To Attend Senate Hearing

Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the former chief executive officer of the FTX empire, has claimed that he is “not currently scheduled” to attend the Senate Banking Committee hearing on December 14.

On a Twitter Space conversation this Monday, SBF stated that only if his participation at the hearing is judged critical would he be willing to meet with the chair about it.

“I am not currently scheduled to do that, but I’m open and willing to have a conversation if it’s believed to be important.”

SBF has already missed the Senate Banking Committee’s deadline for responding to a request for his testimony. The Banking Committee had already summoned Sam Bankman-Fried and stated that he must attend the December 13 hearing.

Bankman-Fried, on the other hand, made it very plain in the ongoing Twitter conversation that he will be attending the second separate hearing, set up by the United States House Financial Services Committee on December 13.

When asked why he isn’t presenting in person at the congressional hearing in the United States, SBF claimed a variety of reasons, including a lack of information, avoiding media frenzy, saving time, and general security.
