The expanded support will provide a foundation for more blockchain-based games on Magic Eden, with new gaming companies such as Shatterpoint and Infinite Drive joining the platform. In 2023, Taunt Battle World, Planet Mojo, and Kakao Games will join.
Polygon, as a Layer 2 scaling solution, processes transactions swiftly with low gas prices while using Ethereum security. Polygon is also EVM compatible, which means that developers may use the same contracts they use on Ethereum on Polygon.
In November, Magic Eden expanded support for the Polygon network in an effort to enable multi-chain capabilities and future blockchain gaming possibilities. Polygon now serves as the foundation for numerous popular blockchain-based games, including The Sandbox.
Polygon is a scalable solution suited for the worldwide adoption of NFTs, particularly the fast-growing genre of gaming NFTs, with over 1.3 billion transactions logged, 130 million unique wallets, and 2.7 million monthly active users.
As Coincu reported, Magic Eden has hired Chris Akhavan, a game industry veteran who previously worked at blockchain gaming company Forte, as Chief Gaming Officer to expand its Web3 gaming efforts.
