SBF Gives Up Opposing Extradition To The US

In the next trial in the Bahamas, the SBF is likely to reverse its decision to oppose the extradition to the US. Even though he had tried his best to resist this action before.

According to Reuters citing an anonymous source, the founder of FTX SBF is expected to express in a Bahamas court on Monday that he no longer opposes extradition to the United States.

As mentioned in the previous article, SBF was arrested in the Bahamas on December 12 and charged with fraud and money laundering, among other charges.

He is currently being held at Fox Hill Prison, which is known for its harsh conditions, and suicide is not uncommon here. Sam was detained after a judge denied his request to be released pending an extradition hearing. If convicted on all counts, SBF could face up to 115 years in prison.

Earlier, the legal team of the SBF said it would oppose the extradition decision to the United States. Since 1994, the Bahamas and the US have had an agreement to extradite defendants to the US if they commit crimes in both countries.

According to sources, the attitude of SBF’s parents during the trial also made the witnesses extremely objectionable. Joseph Bankman and Barbara Fried – parents of Sam Bankman-Fried – are both professors at Stanford Law School. Barbara Fried always laughed with a mocking attitude during the trial, and about his father, he closed his ears to the conclusions of the judge and prosecutor.
