The Bahrain telecom operator, recently announced in a statement that it now takes cryptocurrency, claiming to be the first in the nation to do so. According to the announcement, the company has also partnered with payment service provider Eazy Financial Services. According to the release, this collaboration enables customers to settle their bills using the Binance wallet.
Commenting on the relationship with Eazy Financial Services, Nezar Banabeela, the CEO, said: Rapid digitalization around the globe is affecting all parts of our life, and payments are the most critical factor. Almost every digital activity, from online buying and video streaming to money transfers, is dependent on a payment mechanism.
Banabeela also stated that Stc Bahrain’s decision to accept cryptocurrency payments indicates the company’s “strong focus on promoting Bahrain’s fintech sector as world-class digital enablers.” Furthermore, the CEO stated that his organization intends to make crypto acceptance “a easy procedure and encourage adoption as crypto is the future of payments.”
Meanwhile, Nayef Tawfiq Al Alawi, the founder and CEO of Eazy Financial Services, stated that the collaboration arrangement allows the telecom operator to accept cryptocurrency payments “in a regulated, secure, and exceptionally rapid manner.“
Tameem Al Moosawi, general manager of Binance Bahrain, praised Stc Bahrain for taking the initiative and perhaps establishing the standard for telecom carriers looking to shift to the Web3 economy.
