OKX And Gate.io Are Inaccessible Due To A Problem With Alibaba Cloud

On December 18, CEX exchanges including OKX and Gate.io had technical issues that directly impacted user withdrawals.

OKX is the first name associated with technical notices. This exchange on Twitter explains the aforementioned vulnerabilities and claims that user assets are unaffected.

“Alibaba Cloud is working to resolve issues in the HK Zone C system. Our development team is working to remedy the issue as quickly as possible. We are prepared to restart all services once Alibaba Cloud has resolved the issue. User assets remain secure, and we sincerely regret any inconvenience.”

As a result, withdrawal delays in pure CEX markets are due to technical issues with data providers. However, many customers are concerned since CEX exchanges have recently been plagued by issues over the total amount of assets stored on the platform.

OKX and Gate.io have been down for approximately 7 hours since the announcement at 10:40 a.m. on December 18.
