Key Points:
According to revelations from prison guards to Bloomberg, former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) was locked in the infirmary at Fox Hill Prison, Bahamas, where unlike other inmates, he was used running water and even a private toilet, and other benefits. SBF spends all day watching TV news and reading articles about himself.
At Fox Hill Prison, SBF shared a room with four other men. They all have cots, a prison luxury, and inmates complain they are forced to sleep on empty floors or on makeshift cardboard beds in cells filled with rats.
According to standard procedure, people confined to the medical unit are not allowed to exercise outside, and the SBF spends most of their time in the crib.
Although he initially said he would oppose extradition, the SBF began saying late last week that he was ready to return to the United States. According to one person with direct knowledge of the matter, the change in SBF’s attitude was partly related to the expectation that he would be able to be released on bail in the United States.
As was updated in an earlier Coincu News article, that SBF went to the Bahamas airport to accept extradition from the United States after he signed the papers to agree to the extradition.
