Key Points:
The Astar Network team officially announced that its primary development won “Product of the Year” at the fourth annual award ceremony of the Japan Blockchain Association (JBA). The CEO and founder of Astar, Sota Watanabe, received the “Person of the Year” honor.
Astar, the largest Web3 association in Japan with 171 large and medium-sized companies, consulting firms, and industrial powerhouses, including bitFlyer, Coincheck, Microsoft, GMO, EY, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, Toyota, and ConsenSys, will participate in the 4th annual Blockchain Awards.
This is Watanabe’s second year in a row to get this honor. The JBA is in charge of organizing the coveted prize. Watanabe is assisting the Japanese government in moving forward since Web3 is now a component of its overall national policy. Another significant development is that Astar Network is now Japan’s first publicly listed blockchain, converting the ASTR tokens from a security to a cryptocurrency.
Watanabe ecosystem emphasizes the critical role that these honors play in his development, technical advancement, and widespread adoption among Web3 developers:
“We are delighted to have been recognized by the Japanese Web3 community. As Japan’s leading blockchain project, we remain committed to hastening Web3 innovation through Astar. In 2023 and beyond, we will leverage our presence in Japan to unlock opportunities for entrepreneurs, developers, and users alike.”
Previously Coincu reported that Fukuoka, Japan’s second-largest port city, is looking to the future of Web3 with its latest collaboration with Astar Japan Labs, the firm behind Japan’s main blockchain, the Astar Network.
