Key Points:

  • The company that owns One Times Square has filed NFT-related trademark applications.
  • Coverage includes NFT-certified media, apparel, and wedding services.
The company that owns One Times Square, which is located in Times Square in the Midtown area of Manhattan in New York City, has filed NFT-related trademark applications.

Coverage includes the downloadable multimedia file containing audio, video, textual, and graphic content; the downloadable multimedia file containing artwork related to One Times Square authenticated by NFTs.

The application also includes NFT-certified apparel, wedding services, and services as entertainment, specifically providing access to non-downloadable audiovisual broadcasts of others on mobile communications devices via a global computer network and wireless networks.

Companies are gradually moving deeper into the fields of metaverse and NFT, gradually considering them as one of the potential growth strategies.

An NFT trademark is a trademark for a non-fungible token that represents digital media, virtual goods, digital collectibles, and other crypto-assets that can be bought, sold, exchanged, and transacted using blockchain technology. It would be a footwear brand trademarking its name for:

  • Downloadable digital media, namely, digital assets, digital collectibles, digital tokens, and NFTs
  • Provision of an online marketplace and registry for buyers and sellers of digital assets, digital collectibles, digital tokens, and NFTs
  • Digital assets and digital collectibles sold as NFTs

As Coincu reported, the financial giant Fidelity Investments has recently filed trademark applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for various Web3 products and services. These include an NFT marketplace, financial investment, and cryptocurrency trading services in the metaverse.

Earlier this month, BMW apparently registered to trademark its emblem in connection with a variety of Web3 goods and services.

The number of NFT and blockchain-related trademarks in the United States topped 6,000 between January 1 and September 30. Famous artists and famous brands have also begun to enter this field with trademark registration. The prominent names that can be mentioned are Miley Cirus, Snoop Dogg, or giants like Ford, Sony Music, and the luxury brand Hermès.
