Ripple agrees to provide recordings of the “Martial Arts Conference” to the SEC | Sept 11

Ripple has agreed to a request from the US Securities and Exchange Commission to provide its internal documentation.

The offer includes different categories of “martial arts” sessions from the 4th quarter of 2014, town hall meetings

with SBI, public chats, etc.

The SEC will also have access to certain records of Town Hall meetings, such as Ripple staff’s discussion of the investigation (December 22, 2020), the company’s outlook amid the XRP price slump (December 22, 2020). The concentration of cryptocurrencies (March 30, 2020).

The SEC filed on Jan.

The agency argued that the defendants never informed them that the documents existed. However, in a response letter, Ripple’s attorneys stated that the SEC’s filing for the filing had been “delayed,” alleging that Ripple had notified plaintiffs of the existence of the document before the lawsuit began. The agency waited until early August to ask for “specificity.”

The Ripple team also said the requirement for all logs of corporate meetings over eight years was “too much.”

The SEC’s proposal was rejected as an argument because it was no longer relevant after the parties reached an agreement without judicial involvement.

Plaintiffs said they did not point to “various inaccuracies” in the company’s response. However, it doubled in claiming that it had “explicitly searched” the footage back in January.

The parties will meet and discuss the scope of providing records. There is ongoing record-keeping controversy about whether Ripple should find and provide descriptions of certain employees’ speaker activities in this regard.

In early September, the SEC gained access to Ripple’s internal Slack messages. The agency claims that communications from corporate employees on popular business communication platforms are likely to contain “critical” and “clear” evidence of the incident.

* Town hall meetings consist of a group of people who can be all employees of the organization or department or all employees of a particular department, usually held in a large space such as halls or conference centers. We invite you to join our Telegram for faster news:
