Polkadot Marks Growth In 2022 With The Ecosystem Annual Summary

Polkadot released the 2022 annual summary on social media, marking 1 year of efforts to overcome the difficult market landscape of the ecosystem.

As of now, the Polkadot ecosystem has 74 parachains, more than 300 dApps, covering more than 550 projects, and 2,500 monthly active developers.

After the launch of the secure cross-chain interoperability XCM (Cross-Consensus Message), more than 350,000 XCM transfers have been sent so far. SubStrate has nearly 1,000 fork-free upgrades in 2022, including 15 upgrades on the Polkadot blockchain.

More than 200 teams are now developing or launching purpose-built blockchains on the blockchain technology stack. In a huge vote of confidence in the future of the Polkadot ecosystem, the community has funded over 130 million DOT and approximately 300,000 KSM through crowdloans to support parachains’ auction bids.

Partnerships with Astar Network – NTT DOCOMO, Efinity – Square Enix, and Kilt Protocol – dena news were some of the significant ecosystem adoption triumphs this year, illustrating why Polkadot is the ideal home for the fast-developing Web3 potential.

The ecosystem teams, projects, and dapps on Polkadot continued to push the boundaries of what is possible with blockchains throughout the year, demonstrating Polkadot’s position as a leader in DeFi, NFTs, identification, gaming, privacy, robotics, IoT, supply chain, and many other use cases.

Additionally, on August 8, 2022, Manta Network launched the largest trusted setup in the world on the blockchain, encompassing 177 countries and including more than 13,000 participants.

Nearly 1000 seamless, forkless upgrades of SubStrate blockchains have now occurred thanks to the ecosystem’s industry-leading upgradeability and governance capabilities, including 15 on the blockchain in 2022, proving that blockchain technology can advance at the rate of innovation.

In addition, the ecosystem has also integrated Tether and USDC and launched decentralized trading platforms Polkdadex and Equilibrium to support DeFi. The next-generation blockchain governance system OpenGov is expected to be launched in the near future.
