Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and a backer of Dogecoin, said that as long as McDonald’s accepts Dogecoin as payment, he is still open to the notion of enjoying a happy meal live on television.
Everything began when fast food goliath McD’s posed the question, “What did I miss?” on Twitter. Oh, hi, lol,” the Tesla CEO said in response.
Then, when questioned if his original offer to McDonald’s regarding accepting Dogecoin was still open, Musk responded with a “100” emoji, according to “DogeDesigner” of UX/UI and graphic design at Dogecoin.
“Hey McDonald’s, this offer from Mr. Tweet elonmusk is still open,” DogeDesigner later tweeted on his official handle.
On Twitter, the message has received a number of replies, some of which express anticipation that the fast food restaurant may contemplate taking Dogecoin. In January 2022, Musk said he would be willing to consume a happy meal live on television if McDonald’s accepted Dogecoin.
The restaurant business offers a combo for kids called a “happy meal” that comes with a main dish, a side dish, and a drink. In response to Musk’s article, McDonald’s urged Tesla to adopt “Grimacecoin,” a fictitious cryptocurrency. After the cheesy joke, many people thought Musk’s effort to get McDonald’s to adopt Dogecoin was done, but recent Twitter interactions might indicate otherwise.
Following Elon Musk’s announcement of Twitter’s acquisition in October of last year, Dogecoin had a more than 150% increase, which allowed it to reenter the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
Dogecoin, the ninth-largest cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization, is still in the top 10 cryptocurrencies despite its price decline.
