Yuga Labs’ HV-MTL NFTs Spark Frenzy Among Crypto Enthusiasts

Yuga Labs, a leading non-fungible token (NFT) platform, has launched the next phase of its popular game Dookey Dash, enabling players who claimed a Sewer Pass in January to mint an NFT in its new collection called HV-MTL.

The game involves a process called “The Summoning,” in which players can burn their Sewer Pass token to mint an NFT from the new collection. The 30,000-unit collection features “mechs,” which resemble robots and are currently available in Evo 1, with future forms evolving based on players’ performance in upcoming mini-games.

The tokens in the HV-MTL collection are derived from a “power source” rarity trait determined by users’ scores in Dookey Dash, a gamified experience that encourages skill-building. Since the collection’s release, the tokens have surged in value on the secondary market. According to NFT marketplace OpenSea, the collection’s floor price is approximately 2.4 ETH or $4,000, with a trading volume of over 4,850 ETH, or roughly $8 million.

Some early adopters of the new NFTs encountered issues with “companion traits” not appearing on their HV-MTL initially, but Yuga Labs identified and fixed the problem promptly.

Yuga Labs initially launched its Sewer Pass mint in January, earning $6 million in sales in just a few hours. The platform invited token-holders to play Dookey Dash, which encouraged players to engage in up to 28 hours of gameplay, building their skills and boosting their chances of success in the platform’s evolving collections.

Yuga Labs’ Dookey Dash platform and its latest HV-MTL collection highlight the growing trend of gamification in the NFT market. By integrating games with their NFT collections, platforms can incentivize skill-building, enhance user engagement, and generate new revenue streams. As the NFT market continues to grow and evolve, it is likely that gamification will play an increasingly significant role in its development.
