What does the founder of Cardano say about “unethical” projects on blockchain?

In a recent surprise Ask Me Anything session, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson addressed everything from personal attacks and questions about communism to doubts about Cardano after the Alonzo hard fork.

Charles Hoskinson – Founder of Cardano

One of the questions Hoskinson asked was his perception of unethical projects on the Cardano blockchain.

One user asked whether he had to deal with such projects on a permanent basis. However, Hoskinson’s answer was a resounding “no”. Brothers speak:

Because it’s an open infrastructure. If it’s an open infrastructure, by definition, good and bad people have equal access. Community governance, regulation and other things seem to help weed out bad actors.

And that is Voltaire’s point. That’s the point of Catalyst. That’s the attitude of the ambassadors and the foundation, the way you use your brain. ”

Community rules (Cardano)

follow Timetable from Cardano, Voltaire is the fifth and final stage of development of this blockchain project. With the introduction of the treasury and reconciliation system, network users can participate in the development of Cardano as it leaves the remit of IOHK.

In the meantime, Catalyst has made some suggestions about the Cardano project possible. The community accepts suggestions, allows votes and has quality assurance appraisers or “community advisors”.

In addition to other ideas such as certified Dapp and Dapp stores, user governance will be one of the topics discussed at the upcoming Cardano Summit.

Next up, Hoskinson recall Viewers that unlike robbery or burglary, cryptocurrency fraud doesn’t happen overnight. As an example, he cites the scams with ADA giveaways on YouTube. In the past, old videos were used to trick viewers into sending money. In fact, smaller channels have also been exposed to similar attacks.

“We have another ‘keyboard hero’. Channel hacked for giveaway fraud. Blame me for not understanding simple things and of course emailing me insults and threats. YouTube, did you see it? “.

Hoskinson also pointed out YouTube’s liability in this regard. He accused the giant of monetizing user scam videos “across the industry”.

YouTube must be responsible

Hoskinson isn’t the first in the community to condemn YouTube, however. In 2020, Ripple and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse sued YouTube for failing to enforce its own guidelines allowing XRP advertising fraud.

The litigation was settled earlier this year. Even so, it is very easy to find crypto scams and fake channels with stolen videos on the platform.

With the expansion of the Cardano ecosystem, both community initiatives and external policies will prevent many unethical, fraudulent projects.
