Scam Alert

Starknet Warns Users Should Beware Of Scams Airdrop

Key Points:

  • Starknet has issued a reminder that there are currently a large number of fake private messages on Discord, Twitter, and Telegram claiming that the project is issuing tokens or airdrops.
  • Not only that but other projects are also being taken advantage of because people are looking forward to the airdrop.
  • Users should be careful with large projects when there is unexpected news because they are very easy to be used to steal assets.
Through the recent airdrop of Arbitrum, the crypto community is excited and really wants other Layer 2 to “learn” to follow. However, this is also the time for scammers to take advantage of stealing user assets. There is a good chance that Starknet will have a native token airdrop, however, now is not the time.

The Ethereum Layer 2 network Starknet tweeted a reminder that there are currently a large number of false private messages on Discord, Twitter, and Telegram, claiming that the project is releasing tokens or airdrops. It says all the accounts are fake scams.

Starknet employs ZK-Rollups technology, which allows dApp developers to create dApps of any size while maintaining the security inherited from Ethereum.

The contract and the Starknet operating system are built in Cairo, a programming language that allows for the deployment and scaling of dApps that aren’t bound by business logic.

It is no coincidence that the news related to the airdrop has been very hot recently, an airdrop of one of the leading Layer 2 platforms like Starknet will be a driving force to attract the community. Here are some fake news that Coincu collected:

The scammers are even more sophisticated by creating a fake Twitter page representing the project to announce the airdrop. The LayerZero omnichain protocol is one of the victims of this scam. The fake page even has a following of more than 22,000 people.

Scammers are on the rise as the cryptocurrency market recovers from crypto winter. All bitcoin lovers should exercise extreme caution: initiatives are just organized to promote awareness. As a result, airdrops from well-known and established products are almost always frauds.
