Mysten Labs Co-founder: SUI Has No Airdrop Or Never Will, Beware Of Scams

Key Points:

  • According to Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and chief product officer of the Sui development team Mysten Labs, there is no SUI airdrop.
  • The statement comes amid a community eagerly anticipating an airdrop from the project.
  • However, users still have faith in the project.
Sui Network, which is being hailed as the world’s first permissionless Layer 1 blockchain designed from the ground up, is one of the most anticipated projects to airdrop this year after Arbitrum’s successful airdrops.

Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and chief product officer of the Sui development team Mysten Labs, said in response to a series of tweets published by a Twitter user about the airdrop:

“Stop spreading nonsense. There is NO Sui Airdrop. Not planned or ever will be.”

One of the fascinating blockchain products is Sui, the initial product from Web3 infrastructure provider Mysten Labs. It’s a fast-growing platform that might endanger Solana. It intends to support Web3 and NFTs, while Solana is primarily concerned with DeFi. Diem’s successor says that its unique features and programming language have overcome the scalability, security, and gas cost issues.

The SUI token, which has a total supply of 10 billion tokens, is the native token of the platform and fulfills four key functions: gas fees, staking, governance, and as an underlying asset of the economy.

The SUI allocation will allot a total of 20% of the supply to early donors. The company has also said that distributing and awarding tokens to the community would be a primary goal. This is also the cause of speculation that there will be a large airdrop for early participants.

Although the above statement of Abiodun has been confirmed, the community still has faith that the project will have an airdrop for users.

As Coincu reported, Sui Network said that the project’s mainnet would go live in the second quarter of this year. The project also verified that they have no intentions to airdrop at this time. From now until the mainnet, the project will hold The Wave to Mainnet, a series of events designed to introduce people to the network and help them grasp the project’s potential.
