Tron has been plagued by controversy since it was launched in 2017. First the plagiarism whitepaper and then all the negative news about Justin Sun, the illusory founder of the project.
Justin Sun – Founder of Tron
Today, Tron found a solution for itself after a YouTuber said he was offered to pay to start the project with millions of followers. Sun flatly denied the claims, but the YouTuber shared screenshots as evidence – thereby drawing the attention of all the celebrities who tweeted about Tron over the past week.

Marques Brownlee, a popular tech YouTuber who runs the MKBHD channel, said in a tweet Tuesday that he was offered by Tron to pay to talk over the network and have it appear as a “no pay” post . I said:
“I do not want to know anything about TRON, but I am ready to help you find information on the subject. I have an email receipt, ”he said.
That was in response to Sun’s previous tweet. Brownlee insists that it is “unauthorized” by the Tron Foundation. Tron will work with community members to see if these efforts are being followed up by the Tron Foundation.
Additionally, while Brownlee received no payment, Tron reportedly paid celebrities like Lindsay Lohan and NE-YO to tweet about Tron, its ecosystem, and projects based on it).
In one such tweet, Lohan said that “Exploring DeFi and already liking JST, SUN, TRX. Super fast and 0 fees. Well done “. Similar tweets were later sent out by Akon, Jake Paul, Amanda Cerny, and others.
Neither of them disclosed whether or not the tweet contained an advertisement, even if US law requires that all social media advertisements be posted appropriately with the “promotional” tag. For its part, Sun said in another tweet that celebrities are actually using Tron “because of its high speed and low cost”.
Brownlee refuted these claims, however. He shared a screenshot of a letter that said, “We don’t have to make it look like a sponsored tweet, Marques can openly comment on what he thinks of Tron in a tweet and post it.”
“Nice to add his honest opinion, nothing wrong or script,” added the alleged email from Tron.
Jason Choi, a general partner of the Spartan Group crypto fund, speak that such acts could be fined heavily by the US authorities after reviewing similar cases in the past.
“No one is surprised that the Celebrity TRX appears to be sponsored on Twitter and the disclosure is deliberately overlooked. If Lindsay Lohan gets the fine like Mayweather, it would be + 70% of her net worth (assuming the public records are correct). “
Whether or not celebrities are actually paid remains a mystery. However, in the meantime, Sun has decided to shut down Twitter for a while.
