Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App, was fatally stabbed in San Francisco. A 38-year-old tech entrepreneur named Nima Momeni has been arrested in connection with the murder. Momeni and Lee reportedly knew each other.

According to CNBC, San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin announced that an arrest has been made in connection to the murder of Lee. The suspect, Nima Momeni, is a 38-year-old tech entrepreneur from Emeryville, California. According to local news outlets, Momeni and Lee reportedly knew each other.

Lee was found with stab wounds in a deserted part of downtown San Francisco and was immediately taken to a hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Lee eventually succumbed to his injuries. Lee was widely known in the tech industry for his work as the chief product officer of MobileCoin, a cryptocurrency company, and his previous role as the chief technology officer of Square (now known as Block). He was also an investor in various tech firms, such as Clubhouse, and Elon Musk’s SpaceX venture.

MobileCoin CEO Joshua Goldbard took to Twitter to praise Lee, stating that he was a “brilliant” visionary with a “kaleidoscopic” mind. The tech community mourned Lee’s death and expressed condolences to his family and loved ones.

The arrest of Momeni on suspicion of murder is a significant development in the case. The San Francisco Police Department is expected to provide more details about the investigation in a press conference later today.

Peskin noted that the crime was “not a random act,” but did not provide any further information. The arrest of a suspect in connection to Lee’s death brings a measure of closure to the tech community, and many are hoping that justice will be served.
