Dapper’s investment round comes just a day after sports NFT platform Sorare raised $ 680 million at a valuation of $ 4.3 billion.
In another announcement on Wednesday, Dapper Labs announced a partnership with LaLiga, Spain’s highest professional football league, to launch the football market.
The marketplace will showcase digital collections from the league’s 20 teams, including popular clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Like Dapper Labs’ hugely successful NBA top shot project, the LaLiga soccer marketplace will run on the company’s flow blockchain. Dapper Labs is scheduled to start in summer 2022.
NBA Top Shot, Dapper Labs’ crown jewel, which has seen exponential growth over the past year, with $ 780 million worth of collectibles traded on the platform, has already registered over 1.1 million accounts by 2021.
