Fake crypto gift scams are still popping up, and the latest victim is now the oldest bitcoin education resource, Bitcoin.org. The site shut down and the developer who ran it started blaming Cloudflare for it. Earlier on September 23rdapproxTwitter users pointed out that the Bitcoin.org website was hacked because it had a really disturbing message on the homepage asking visitors to deposit a certain amount of BTC to double their investment. This is definitely another scam as the community is used to it. History shows that there are myriad other fraudulent activities involving some of the most famous names in and out of the crypto space.

Although it sounds too good to be true, these scams are still trying to trick victims and that makes them very dangerous. Currently, Bitcoin.ORG has been removed because it is showing error 4040 not found and the developer behind it is dealing with COBRA via Twitter, suggesting that the security issue is actually a problem with the company to Cloudflare. Cloudfire CEO Matthew Prince notes that crypto-related websites have become the target of cyber criminals.
As recently reported, Bitcoin.org is an educational resource and website founded in 2008 that helps people get started with Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, by providing more information on where to buy assets and what its main use cases are. The site lost its case in the UK a month ago after Cobra chose to hide its identity rather than defending itself against copyright infringement allegations by Craig Wright who claims to have invented Bitcoin. As a result, Bitcoin.org has been ordered to remove the cryptocurrency whitepaper from its UK visitor website.
