Nike Teams Up With EA Sports To Drive Web3 Business

Nike and EA Sports have announced a collaboration that would bring select virtual assets generated by .SWOOSH, Nike’s Web3 commerce platform, to future EA Sports products.

There have been no particular titles mentioned, and neither company has revealed much detail about what we may anticipate, however, Nike said in a press release that the relationship would enable .SWOOSH members and EA Sports fans express their unique style via play. Within the EA Sports ecosystem, this offers immersive experiences and increased degrees of customization.

According to a Nike statement, the company will provide further details on how its NFTs will be integrated into EA’s games in the coming months.

Nike’s newest partner in its effort to integrate Web3 into its company is EA. According to Ron Faris, vice president of Nike Virtual Studios, the relationship will unleash new experiences for the .SWOOSH community as well as the enormous EA SPORTS fan base.

“Nike and EA SPORTS share a commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellence, and we are thrilled to partner with them. This partnership will allow us to unlock some incredible new experiences for our .SWOOSH community and the massive EA SPORTS fan base,” Faris stated.

Electronic Arts’s EA Sports branch is home to gaming titles such as Apex Legends, The Sims, and Battlefield. Since its foundation in 1991, EA Sports has published sports games under the Madden NFL, FIFA, NHL, and NASCAR names.

.SWOOSH issued its first NFT collection on its platform last month, despite being restricted to the general public, selling over 92,000 NFTs. The debut of the Our Force 1 started with an NFT airdrop, followed by the sale of digital shoe boxes that “open” into digital shoes.

According to a Dune Analytics dashboard, Nike has enjoyed enormous financial success from their NFT launches so far, garnering over $186 million in total sales since December 2021.
