Bitcoin Cash upgrade successful, network works as intended

On May 15, the Bitcoin Cash upgrade was successfully applied to the blockchain and brought a variety of features designed to improve the overall user experience. This upgrade marks the start of a new upgrade schedule that will allow developers to invest more time testing new features that will be added to the protocol in the future.

According to the tweets by Bitcoin Info, the latest Bitcoin Cash update that suggests a number of important changes, was successfully applied to the network on Saturday afternoon. The upgrade offers enhancements that help improve usability and deliverability. Better security against double spending.

The new features have been applied to the chain with no issues, and at the time of writing, 82 blocks have been mined using the new rules, according to Coin Dance. This update marks a new era in the way developers manage log updates unlike before.

BTC fork tweets:

“A 4642 long transaction chain has just been broken down in the Bitcoin Cash block 688.122 (1.4 MB block contains a further 747 transactions).”

The upgrade brings two new proposals for standardizing and improving protocol development: A new annual update plan to help developers write and test new features more thoroughly, and CHIPs (Cash Improvements). to users and miners before acceptance.

In addition, the function of removing the unconfirmed row transaction limit is also applied and the users test the function.

No What’s the problem in this time

Bitcoin Cash had many complicated stories when it came to applying updates. It wasn’t until last year that the network had to perform a controversial hard fork when the developers of the most dominant node, Bitcoin ABC, proposed a new set of rules.

This set of rules changed the way mining rewards were distributed and gave Bitcoin ABC a percentage of it. Much of the community, made up of other Node software groups, decided to let the ABC development team go. Bitcoin Cash retained the BCH symbol and most of the hashrate at the time. Bitcoin ABC has fully caught on and created its own chain.

But even before that, Bitcoin Cash was hit by another controversial hard fork, which led Bitcoin ABC’s lead developer Amaury Sechet to protest against Craig Wright about certain changes. This inconsistency brought about BSV through an event known at the time as the “Hash War” in which miners support one chain against miners who support the other.

The developers have now learned from the mistakes of the past, recognized the problem and rely on an independent development process with CHIP as the centerpiece. CHIP is now the structure to follow in order to propose changes and find consensus to allow or deny them in order to avoid the known pitfalls that come with centralized development.
