Key Points:
According to a recent update by EmberCN, The Sandbox has achieved a remarkable feat of successfully distributing and transferring more than 120 million SAND, which holds a valuation of $47.62 million, through the address 0x73b.
Notably, a significant portion, around 86 million SAND, has been transferred to CEX. In addition, The Sandbox is currently being distributed through the same address, with an impressive amount of 29.52 million SAND, equivalent to $11.7 million, being distributed to 10 distinct addresses in just 2 hours.
CoinCu recently reported that The Sandbox (SAND) has taken important steps to improve its platform’s security. The Hong Kong-based metaverse game has implemented KYC verification for its staking process, ensuring that users’ accounts are verified before they can participate.
Since the early 2000s, The Sandbox has been a pioneer in the virtual world-building and metaverse area. It debuted as a mobile game in 2010, giving players tools to participate in nonlinear gameplay, commonly known as “sandbox mode” gaming, by enabling them to design their own worlds filled with virtual items, people, characters, and others.
The game remained popular until it was purchased by Animoca Brands in 2018. The virtual property would subsequently be used by this parent company to create a blockchain-based version of The Sandbox, replete with play-to-earn games, virtual land parcels, tradeable NFTs, and more.
