AMC customers can now buy digital gift cards with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) directly through the AMC website, mobile app and theater, CEO Adam Aron announced on October 5th.
The new payment option was activated by the large crypto payment processor BitPay, allowing consumers to purchase electronic cards for up to $ 200, noted Aron.
The CEO paid special attention to Dogecoin (DOGE) among the digital assets accepted for the purchase of electronic AMC tokens. Aron suggested in September that AMC would add DOGE to its list of cryptocurrencies accepted for ticket purchases by the end of 2021.
Aron conducted a survey of 140,000 people on Twitter and asked the community if AMC should accept DOGE payments for tickets. “Of course you think AMC should accept Dogecoin. Now we have to figure out how to do it. Stay tuned, ”said Aron at the time.

Earlier this year, the major Cineplex Group, the largest cinema operator in Thailand, launched a payment attempt that allows customers to purchase tickets using cryptocurrency.
